Residential Development in Downtown Houston

Residential demand remains strong in downtown Houston, according to a new report.

Developers delivered 1,555 new apartment units downtown in 2016. The majority of units — 948 — were delivered in the fourth quarter, according to Central Houston’s fourth quarter 2016 report, which tracks the progress of residential and commercial developments in the Central Business District.

20-Stories of Luxury on the River Walk in San Antonio

Downtown San Antonio will soon get 20 stories of luxury hotel and condominium space with DC Partners and Universal Service Group’s plans for a 337,000-square-foot mixed-use development along the River Walk.

It has been nearly a year since the development partnership went before the city’s Historic Design and Review Commission for preliminary approval. Now, the partnership is moving toward its Spring 2017 groundbreaking for the Thompson Hotel-flagged project, which will include 167 hotel room and 66 luxury condominiums and is being marketed as The Arts Residences.

Randall Davis has scrapped plans for his third Chateau Ten-branded luxury condominium project in Houston.

In February 2016, the Houston developer proposed building a five-story, 16-unit condo on a 0.32-acre site off of Shakespeare Street in the West University area. The latest Chateau Ten project would have offered a single-floor living concept designed to appeal to empty-nesters downsizing from large family homes into a boutique, midrise condo with lower maintenance fees.

DC Partners has assembled the team, finalized its design, and is ready to bring out the shovels.

The Houston-based firm is officially ready to go with plans to develop a 20-story mixed hotel-condominium development in downtown San Antonio.

DC Partners is on track for a spring 2017 groundbreaking for its mixed River Walk project, which will include 66 residences and 162 Thompson Hotel-branded rooms on two vacant sites at 101 and 123 Lexington Ave.

Marlowe Breaks Ground in Downtown

Randall Davis Co. and DC Partners have broken ground on Marlowe, a luxury condominium tower in downtown Houston.

The two Houston developers held a groundbreaking event on Oct. 4 for the 20-story, 95-unit condo project located at 1311 Polk St., across the street from the House of Blues and a couple of blocks from the Toyota Center and Discovery Green park. Site work on the project started this summer, but the building will be going vertical this fall.
