With a booming economy, friendly residents, diverse culinary experiences and a wide variety of activities Texas is the place to be…and it is not going unnoticed by the rest of the nation. All over Texas, from Dallas-Fort Worth to the Gulf Coast, renowned hotels varying in size and recognition, are preparing to open their doors; nonetheless, some openings are getting extra attention.
According to InsideHook, the Thompson Hotel Houston is amongst the hotel openings most widely anticipated this year. After a successful welcome in 2021 in both Dallas and San Antonio, another DC Partners development, into what was previously unchartered territory, Thompson Hotels continue to expand and establish their roots throughout the South. Thompson Austin saw the opening of a Thompson Hotel and tommie, a boutique hotel concept in spring 2022. Now, the brand shifts their attention to Houston, as they prepare to open a 36-story luxury property with 172 guest rooms, including 34 suites and 100 private residences in the fall. The hotel and residences are part of Phase 1 of The Allen development by DC Partners. Phase 1 includes the hotel, residences, and a mixed use pavilion for luxury retail, fine dining and a health and fitness club. Phase 2 will incorporate a 280-unit mid-rise luxury apartment complex with roof-top pool deck, high-end retail components, and natural green space areas.
Thompson is known for infusing its spaces with stylish design, great food and local culture, and that won’t change here. Houstonians and visitors to the city can expect multiple restaurants, a full-service spa, state of the art amenities, and one of the city’s largest pool decks, nearly a mile wide.
